This blog was created by a first grade teacher in Canada. The teacher invited others from around the world to contribute to her blog and the responses are incredible! Students from Serbia posted videos about themselves and what their classroom is like. The six year olds in her classroom each have their own page and, believe it or not, post blogs! It is evident that the teacher has helped them create their pages, however, they seem to be typing in the content themselves. This classroom blog is really cute! LOVE IT!
This is a blog that J.H. House Elementary School created for its students. The initial page is called The Write Weblog and contains a teacher's page where comments on the students and things that are going on are posted.
Then there are links on the left hand of the page to actual students' blogs. It seems like they are given a focus to blog on, but are allowed to express their thoughts and feelings as well.
LIKES: The kids each have their very own web page and they are all unique with differing colors and fonts.
Current Events Resources are listed on the left hand side of the page making it easy for students to use.
Scholastic uses kid reporters between the ages of 9 and 14 that blog across America about currrent events, spors , entertainment and more. About 50 students are chosen through an application process based on writing samples each year to become a reporter and blog for scholastic. Students are then able to read the blogs and leave commments.
DISLIKE: students are able to comment but not create their own blog
This teacher created blog allows his students to reflect and comment on news and assignments. It also allows students to blog even when they are away as demonstrated by a student who blogged all the way from India.
This blog gives seventh grade sudents and their parents the opportunity to commmunicate back and forth on issues important to their learning experiences.
Likes: Students are able to create their own blogs and discuss issues important to them as well as make as make each page individual and personal.
Meghan's Math Mania http://meghanmath.edublogs.org/ This isn't a blog specifically for a student in a classroom, but what was interesting was that this girl Meghan made a whole blog that was devoted to all things math. Definitely unique!
